LGBT+ Rights, Atheism & Blasphemy // Maryam Namazie

Cambridge University Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Society is pleased to host this event for LGBT+ History Month with guest speaker Maryam Namazie.

Namazie is a is a British-Iranian secularist and human rights activist. She is the spokesperson for Iran Solidarity, One Law for All and the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain (CEMB) and is a patron of London Black Atheists.

Maryam Namazie will speak of the links between LGBT rights and the rights of apostates and blasphemers, the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain's "controversial" placards at Gay Pride in London, and why defending LGBT rights and the right to atheism and free thought are not "Islamophobic" but in the tradition of dissent and doubt against religion and the religious-Right.

This event is FREE for all to attend. No ticket required, just turn up. Space is limited so arrive early to ensure a seat. ***
