Dear all, The Mental Sciences Club will be launching next week and is open to all. Organised by Tom McClelland and Jessie Munton, the club will provide a hub for those interested in the philosophy of mind and cognitive sciences. The club is open not just to those specialising in philosophy of mind but to anyone interested in learning more about the area. To join our mailing list email Tom at [email protected]. Our first meeting will be:
Wednesday 23rd October, 13:30-15:00, in the Faculty of Philosophy's Graduate Common Room Here we'll discuss what people would like to get out of the club, so do come along with any ideas you have. We'll also be talking about the paper 'Obsessive Compulsive Akrasia' by Samuel Kampa https://philpapers.org/rec/KAMOA For future meetings, we'll be inviting people to present works in progress and lead a group discussion. The club will meet fortnightly in the same slot in weeks 4, 6 and 8, also in the Graduate Common Room. Our other meetings in Michaelmas term will be: Wednesday 6th November Wednesday 20th November Wednesday 4th December Hope to see many of you there.
