Dear all, The Nietzsche reading group will resume in Easter term, with a twist.
This term we will be reading a selection of scholarship about Nietzsche, supplemented by related extracts from Nietzsche's own work. And in response to the lack of gender diversity in Nietzsche scholarship - a longstanding problem in the field - we will read work on Nietzsche written by women. The reading selection will range from work by women who have had significant influence in the history of Nietzsche scholarship, to women who are at the cutting edge of current Nietzsche research. We will meet weeks 1-8 of Easter term, Tuesdays 2-3pm. Meetings will of course be online, and technical details will be circulated before the first meeting. We begin on Tuesday 28 April, 2-3pm with: Jessica N. Berry, 'The Will to a System' in The Nietzschean Mind, Routledge (2018) Primary text: 'The Problem of Socrates' in Twilight of the Idols Copies of the reading - and in time the schedule for the rest of term - can be found at this webpage: https://drmattbennett.weebly.com/nietzsche-reading-group.html Hope to see many of you on Tuesday, Matt Bennett and Julia Borcherding _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: https://lists.cam.ac.uk/pipermail/phil-events/ Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
