Dear all, Hereby a final call for discussants wishing to participate in a 'dialectic' (see https://www.hps.cam.ac.uk/news-events/seminars-reading-groups/dialectic).
For inspiration, examples of 'evocative' theses one might discuss include: 1. 'History-and-philosophy-of-science' is a marriage of convenience. 2. The only approach to science which does not inhibit progress is 'anything goes'. 3. The laws of physics lie 4. There is no such thing as the 'Scientific Revolution'. 5. The use of formal logic in analytic philosophy is a mistake. These are, of course, only examples, and I encourage anyone to come up with their own proposals. (Incidentally, it should go without saying that yours truly does not necessarily subscribe to any of the above theses.) If interested, please let me know by 28 September. Kind regards, Bobby _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: https://lists.cam.ac.uk/pipermail/phil-events/ Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
