Dear all,
The Cambridge branch for Minorities and Philosophy (MAP) is running an informal, online Mentoring and Welcome event on Thursday 26th November at 5-6:30pm via Zoom. We've gathered professional philosophers from across the 'career ladder', including University lecturers, postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, who have kindly offered their time to discuss navigating the world of academia from a position of marginalisation. This should prove to be a great resource for those of us thinking about make a career in academia from the margins! The event is open to all, undergraduates students included. The kinds of topics we are likely to discuss include: establishing a good 'work/life balance', building confidence in speaking and writing for academic and non-academic audiences, navigating traditional and non-traditional career trajectories and building support networks. However, there will be ample opportunity for participants to ask questions or even offer insights of their own! The Zoom link for the event will be circulated in due course. For those who like to use Facebook for such things, there is an event on there: https://www.facebook.com/events/409517507094666/ With thanks and all best, Rory On behalf of the Cambridge MAP Committee Website: https://www.phil.cam.ac.uk/seminars-phil/cambridge-MAP Twitter: https://twitter.com/MapCambridge Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/CambridgeWomenInPhilosophy _____________________________________________________ To unsubscribe from the CamPhilEvents mailing list, or change your membership options, please visit the list information page: http://bit.ly/CamPhilEvents List archive: https://lists.cam.ac.uk/pipermail/phil-events/ Please note that CamPhilEvents doesn't accept email attachments.
