It happened again. I started ripping a CD with Grip, it suddenly slowed waaayyy down (though I'm sure it was moving). I left it running overnight (hoping it would finish) only to find it had locked up after only a few minutes of ripping.
(This reminds me of the old Windows message: This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. The proper law enforcement authorities have been contacted. ;-) Anywayz, it only screwed up my FS a little bit. This time, however, I should point out that I'm using RH8.0 and it's not even recompiled for athlon architecture, so it's right out of the box. I really think it has something to do with how Red Hat seriously insists upon being able to read a CD. Sticking in a badly scratched or very dirty CD may kill it. --Benjamin Vander Jagt -- Phoebe-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/phoebe-list
