Is it just me, or is that simply a cut-out portion of an Edison Standard or Home repro decal? John Robles

I am not sure who bought it and do not want to start any negative implications but it was the clock experts opinion that the clock is a newer vintage that the era of the Edison logo would have been. He used a great example of where VFW was used on a clock made in the 1890's. Knowing that the VFW was started in 1917 helps you understand that it can't be original to and 1890's clock. In my case, I wanted that clock and maybe looked past the hard questions. I had acutally emailed the seller with several points, one being the phono's did not look right (as someone else pointed out as well). His reply gave me a comfort zone that made me feel it was OK. Maybe that conversation up front helped my speedy refund efforts. As already indicated, anything is possible. http://tinyurl.com/3fy8m Eric _______________________________________________ Phono-l mailing list [email protected] http://t2.cwihosting.com/mailman/listinfo/phono-l_oldcrank.com From estott Tue Apr 6 23:44:07 2004 From: estott (Eric Stott) Date: Sun Dec 24 13:10:38 2006 Subject: [Phono-L] Speaking of Edison Clocks References: <[email protected]> Message-ID: <000801c41c5a$ffa256c0$43e6f...@s0027474218> It looks all wrong to me. It's too subtle. If an advertiser provided a free clock he usually wanted it to SCREAM the product across the room. I'd at least expect "EDISON GOLD MOLDED RECORDS" or a like phrase- certainly a reproduction of the Edison trademark signature.
