I believe someone asked about the approx. up to date cost of a 4-7on one of
the lists awhile back. The person responding said that there was one for
sale at one of the phono shows recently with a price of $325 and I believe
it eventually sold for $275. I have a 4-7, which was my very first
orthophonic Victor. I was very fortunate to purchase mine for $75.00 at a
local flea market about 12 years ago in all original really nice conditon. I
can still remember being astounded by the remarkable sound quality being
generated by this small but attractive machine.

4-7.

> The original, potmetal, tone-arm support was replaced and I had a local,
antiques shop reglue the peeling veneer.  The unit has its' original finish;
looks good (to my eye anyway) and works great.

> I've got roughly $400.00 in the machine and would like to get $500.00 for
it.
> Don't know if this is a reasonable expectation on my part; novice that I
am but feel I'll just keep the thing (my first one you know) if I can't get
near the $500 mark.
>
> Oh well, if anyone is interested in looking at the machine, I live in
central North Carolina near Raleigh and if you will email me with contact
information, I'll get back to you quickly. I've got a few pictures of the
unit (not very good quality) that I'd be glad to email you off-list.

> Thanks for your interest and thanks again to all who helped me on this
very interesting project.
