What are they saying about this over at 78-L?  I bet they're loving it.  I was

I expected responses like this, because it is a perfectly legitimate 
viewpoint. I was merely stating my own. 

You are also correct when you say that we cannot depend on museums to 
preserve everything that is worthy of saving. If we had depended on them to 
preserved 
the history of the phonograph, it would already be too late to save much of 
what we have. (I too have been disappointed by the pitiful displays at the 
Smithsonian.)

And if a copy of Black Patti # 8030 titled "Original Stack O'Lee Blues" sung 
by Long Cleve Reed & Little Harvey Hull was ever put up for auction, I bet 
this would surpass King Oliver's "Zulu's Ball" on Gennett auction price by 
thousands.  I think only 1 copy is known to exist.
