I happened to see a needle cup (complete) for sale on e-bay tonight.

A fellow I met today just bought a Victor Victrola, VVXI and needs a
couple of bits to make it complete. Does anyone have a nickel plated
key and the top to the used needle cup for sale?

  Thanks,

  Ron L

I was just given a William and Mary "Laboratory Model" Diamond disc.
Edison Phonograph and numerous 78 albums. I have never collected
phonographs or records and want to ensure I do not do damage to either.
Any suggestions as to getting an appraisal of the phonograph and
records. They are not for sale as they were given to me as an
inheritance. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

David,
Is the machine that you inherited similar to what's shown in the photographs on
this link? http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/7057/Pictures/phono9.jpg

I have a console Edison in my collection, buts it's nearly as ornate as this
model pictured is.

Hi...is anyone aware of a new decal for the inside of the lid of a 1A or 1B
ever being produced? Or, does anyone have a spare mahogany lid for an early
Amberola 1A (with the single swoop) with a nice inside decal? Thanks..Bob

David,
I know very little about the age or value of that machine. If I had to offer a
guess, I would say it was made around 1920-1922.

I found the picture that I shared with you by doing a Google search for
"William and Mary Edison". I found this link and got that picture from that
source:
http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Delphi/7057/phono.html

There are others on this list who are much more experienced and knowledgeable
on the subject than I am. Perhaps someone knows about a book that might shed
more light on the subject? I checked my books and it isn't pictured or
referenced in those publications.

Good luck in your detective work.
Tom

The upright version of the William and Mary model was introduced in
1919...W-19. The early machines had drawers for record storage behind the lower
door. Later machines had the individual slots. The console version, WMC-33 was
introduced in 1922. Both upright and console versions were available until 1927.

The even earlier upright version of the William & Mary was the W-250...
don't have my book handy, but I believe in 1917? The first version had a
drawer for record storage, then went to the door.
