How does the diamond disk auto shutoff work?
I have a mech. in the garage that has two little electro-magnets under the
bedplate by the brake, and a wire that runs in a channel up the back of the
horn.
Just saw a reproducer that has a hole in the back and is supposed to be for
shutoff.

Its got me stumped. Is the reproducer supposed to contact something else to
activate it?
Educate me please.

there's an insulator between the weight and the body of the reproducer.
when it gets to the end of the record, the limit pin touches the
u-shaped loop and completes a circuit which trips the solenoid and puts
on the brake. a 9v transistor battery is enough to run it.
