Hi Tim,

I have seen cylinders this shiny, not very often.  I use my cylinder record 
shoe brush to clean dirty cylinders and the four minute ones shine up very 
nicely.  I have found this is the best way to clean dirty wax cylinders, rub 
the same way as the grooves go.
