Good Morning.
I have a Victrola that has been gone through mechanically and runs beautifully.
The issue is the cabinet. It is badly checked from being exposed to sunlight
over the years.

I am definitely one who likes to keep my phonographs in original condition, as
much as possible. However, this old machine needs some cosmetic help. I
don't want to strip and refinish the Victrola, but am looking for a way to
restore and rejuvenate the original finish.

I have seen a few posts in the past regarding the use of Kotton Klenser. I am
looking at their products on the web.
Do these products, help to smooth out the original finish or do they strip it
off for refinishing. I can't tell a lot from the web site.

Do you use just the Kotton Klenser with the 0 steel wool, or do you use the
protective wood feeder as well?

I would appreciate some advice as to it's use from those with experience.
Thank you.

Subject: [Phono-L] resending question: asking for an average price
Message-ID: <[email protected]>

Hello all,
I sent this question out several hours ago and didn't get a bounce back
e-mail for myself so I thought it didn't go out, so I am resending the
question:

My Lady friend is looking for an Edison Standard or a Fireside that will
play both 2/4 min cylinders.
A repo horn if fine.
What would be an average price of either that we should look for. I don't
want her to pay too much for one.
She has been hooked on the phonographs since we have been together playing
my machines. It's been a while since I have had a Standard -A and it only
played 2 minute cylinders. And never had a fireside to get an idea of a
price range.
She was on e-bay last night and was bidding on a fireside w/ 2 and 4 minute
gearing and was out bid. She was very disappointed. So I told her I would
ask the Phono-list on what pricing to look for and not pay too much for a
nice working machine if we run across one.
So can anyone help
Thanks,
Keith
