Hello all,
I just got a "MODERNOLA" and could use some information on it. I'm still
trying to figure out why I bought the thing. I don't collect inside horn
machines anyway. I'm blaming it on Audra for wanting me to buy it right now
being she liked the lamp shade on the thing.
I can crank it to about 28 full cranks, so I take it that it's a single
barrel?
What is the average price these machines are going for? I believe I paid too
much for the thing. This is the first one I have actually seen other then
the picture in the book on Antique Phonographs.
The condition is really pretty good. The lamp shade is NOT original but
looks pretty nice with the machine.
The only thing I know about it is that it was made close to Adamstown,
Pa.where I bought it yesterday and not many models were made from the
company. If a motor problem would come due, would they be hard to fix? The
tone arm is pot metal.
Thanks for your help,
Keith
