Just wondering whether the Saturday Night discussion forum on Phono-L will be
up and running again at some point. Many of us enjoy this Saturday Night Phono
Chat, and are of course hoping that it will be back in action soon. Thanks
Loran!!

Subject: [Phono-L] Early L-door motor board question
Message-ID: <001a01c52da3$33cdc650$6501a...@danslaptop>

I have a very nice early L-door Victrola XVI that was missing the motor board
and motor. I had everything else. It takes the VTLA style motor board which
sits on top instead of being inset. I found a motor board and motor and it fits
perfectly down to the screw holes except for one problem. The crank shaft on
the motor sits about 1/4 too high for the crank. It's in exactly the right
place, just a bit high.

Does anyone know if there are thinner motor boards for this type of machine?
The only other machine I have with top mounted motor boards is a Victrola XII
which has a thinner and slightly different setup than a XVI.

Any suggestions or ideas out there?

Thanks

Dan

How is the height of the turn table to the motor board? Maybe someone
left off the washers (felt or rubber, I'm not sure) that were probably
between motor and board.
