The $33,799 that won the Auxetophone may be a record for a disc phonograph. Does anyone know of a disc phono that sold for more? Cylinder and tinfoil phonos have gone for more, such as the lyre Multiphone for $35,000 in 2003 or the original Parlor model tinfoil for $51,970 in 1999. Welcome to the list, Per! If you are interested in toy gramophones you will definitely want to order a copy of the new book coming out next month, "Phonograph Toys and Dolls," by Joan and Robin Rolfs. This will be a sensational resource, chock full of great pictures and detailed information. It's a large format, high-quality book with 228 pages, in either hardbound or paperback versions. It is available online through _www.mulhollandpress.com_ (http://www.mulhollandpress.com) . I have only a few toy gramophones myself, but I am a very big fan of Stollwerck chocolate phonographs. I've written about them for both "In the Groove" (Michigan Antique Phonograph Society) and the journal of the Musical Box Society International. You can see them on my webpage: _http://members.aol.com/antiquephono/stollwercks.htm_ (http://members.aol.com/antiquephono/stollwercks.htm) Best regards, Rene Rondeau
