This was posted on another newsgroup but - since manny of you may have dealt with Ruth and her Nipper items and Needle tins -I thought I;d share. I knew her for many years though we never met. In fact the morning I got this email, I shipped her off a Nipper pin she bought from me on ebay. She always mailed CASH. She was probably the most knowledgeable collector of Needle Tins in the world! Steve Dear All,
I'm sorry to have to report that Ruth Lambert died on Monday, 31st January. She had been in hospital for 3 weeks but I don't know any further details. I'm sure many of you will have known Ruth for her needle tins but she also worked very hard for the CLPGS over the last 15 years or so and she organised the successful phonofairs held every year in Northampton, England. She will be missed very much. I expect that more information and tributes will be published in the next issue of 'For the Record' (CLPGS journal) and perhaps, too, on the CLPGS website http://www.clpgs.org.uk Gavin UK
