52044 was still acoustical, so doesn't attract the interest of those looking for electric Edisons in the 52000 range. My copy cost me $2 (but I cannot find it! ) I know that the early 52,000 disks were still acoustically recorded. The difference is obvious between 52,044, and the later disks, in the 52,600 range, of which I have quite a few. Having said that, the days of clean, late, $2 Vaughn de Leath Diamond Disks are gone.
