In case you missed it, the Edison Parlor tinfoil phono sold on eBay yesterday
for $50,025, including the 15% buyers penalty. Not bad for an Edison that
won't play a single cylinder record. ;)

I suspected the horn to be wood grained because of the lower part of the
cygnet had lots of scratches and paint loss and showed a very shiney
appearance.
Just like a woodgrained elbow I have. So I emailed the seller for horn
pictures. They of course sent them to me(and I suppose a few others) and I saw
a
beauty of a cygnet. Included with the horn pics was a closeup of the
reproducer
which confirmed the early O reproducer.

It looks like the picture was taken in an antique shop somewhere in the USA.
If so I wonder if he was selling it in his shop and if so how long? Maybe no
one was interested in it and that is why it was put up on ebay? It wouldn't
surprise me if his asking price was a bit lower than what it brought on ebay.
