Hello All ...

I went to the auction preview. The machine was a Victrola VV IX, s/n
529390 in mahogany with a No.2 soundbox.

It was set inside the top of an oak cabinet with a hinged, rear trim
piece that lowered to allow the machine to slide in and out.
The four upper cabinet, trim pieces that held the machine in place were
ill fitting at the corner joints.

Both the machine's and lower cabinet's appearance were distressed beyond
the fact that the woods of the machine and cabinet did not match. Both
would have required refinishing; in my view.

I do not know if the phonograph worked or not as I left the premises
after my inspection.

I wonder what it will sell for? Maybe I'll call the auctioneer tomorrow
... just out of curiosity.

Regards,

David
