I have a question about a different kind of "holder" -- the hole where the needle end of the reproducer tucks away on a suitcase Columbia Viva-tonal. Most of everything on my machine is brass colored (the turntable plate, the tone arm, and speed knob), and there's even a brass colored lidded holder for used needles. But this reproducer hole on my machine is just a cutout hole with the black "material" that covers the inside of the machine just ending in it -- there's no metal covering this opening. Is there supposed to be metal that finishes the inside of this hole, or was it manufactured this way? Does anyone else have one of these that could check their's and let me know?
