Phono Folks:

I have a recently acquired Standard Talking Machine model x. It has the
trumpeting horn. I also have a model x2 and the morning glory horn( the small
Columbia looking pedal black with gold trim). Can I interchange the horns so I
can use the support arm, cradle and elbow and reproducer on the x2 with the
Columbia morning glory?

I guess to put it simply, are the horns interchangeable?

Thanks in advance.

Bob

Hi Bob,
If I understand your question correctly, yes you can interchange the horns.
The Model X has a shorter traveling arm and the shorter, black belled trumpet
horn. The X2 has a longer arm and uses the morning glory horn. However, the
morning glory horn will work with the shorter arm, just not as well. It might
have a tendency to tip a bit. Try it though, What can you lose?

David:

Thanks for the response. I will give it a try as I think I would like to
display the morning glory horn over the smaller black trumpet type .

If I could find the support arm. traveling arm, elbow, and reproducer for
the x2 it would be great. As it is,
I am lacking those parts and can only display one machine.

If anyone has a contact for those parts, I would appreciate it.
