Hello Group, I went to Union with the intent of buying a really nice table
model machine...perhaps a Zonophone or a fancy cased Columbia cylinder
machine. I did come home with some treasures but they were much larger
than I planned. I bought two uprights and a large cylinder record cabinet
so something has got to go to make room. I would like to offer two
machines that have been in my collection for several years and are very
interesting machines. They are:
Puritan upright Model "Artline". Puritans were made in Sheboygan,
Wisconsin and are known for their interesting cabinets. Mine is a mahogany
example with curved sides, flat in the front, and the horn exits near the
bottom of the cabinet. It is in excellent unrestored condition and the
price is $1000
Retola upright made by the Ausonia Reed Furniture Company of New York.
The machine is made of reed (similar to wicker) and is complete. At some
time in its past, someone repainted the outside of the machine. Retolas
must have been made in small numbers. There is a place on the nametag for
a serial number and it is blank. The price is $850.
I am going to the CAPS sale in August and would be happy to deliver
the machines to the show. If anyone is interested, please contact me off
list. I am happy to answer any questions. Feel free to call me at
541-926-2843 before 10pm (Pacific Coast time). Thanks & Happy Collecting,
Jerry Blais
