Hi Mario,

The earlier column bases and capitals are made of brass and slightly smaller
and the later ones are made of pot metal and are slightly larger. I would
assume yours originally came with the black horn since it was early. I would
assume original owners were encouraged to upgrade the horns as the newer ones
became available as Victor was good in sales and marketing and those who
purchased the VI would have been able to afford the upgrades in most cases.

Hi Ray,

Is this the screw that secures the brass ring to the axle? If so it is a screw
that is a bit larger than the ones that hold the springs on to the brass ring
and it appears to be the same size as the screw on my standard. I would
suggest contacting George Vollema at [email protected]

Hi Folks,

I have a friend who is chasing one of these. If you have one in good condition
for sale (or that you'd consider selling) could you please contact me off list.

Cheers,
Mario
