My guess is that this was aired as a special interest spot feature,  
possibly as part of a news program?  I have assumed that we saw the  
spot feature in its entirety, but if so, perhaps there's a longer  
version available, that was saved before final editing.  This is all  
just conjecture, but I'm with you.
