I can only use two clean unworn Victor PTs I own for comparison, but they
seem best with a 2.8 mil stylus.  Tried a 2.3 and got swish, the 4.0 gave me
a bit more noise, but it too was decent, I think these were meant to be
played with regular needles.  AFAIK Victor (nor anyone else, but correct me
if I'm wrong) at the time was offering special small point needles for
these, unless you consider Tungstones, which were marketed simply for more
permanent use on 78s period.
