Look for a copy of The Almost Complete 78 RPM Record Dating Guide by Steven  
Barr, published by Yesterday Once Again, P.O. Box 6773, Huntington Beach CA  
92615. It will give you a close approximation of the record release date, which 
 will be close to the recording date in most cases. There are, of course, 
more  complete references, but this is the most inclusive starting point for 
me.
