I have been attending the Union Phonograph Show since the early 1980's. It
wasn't until the last few years that I have gone to the Friday set up. For
me, the early entry pass is worth it. I have seen many items that never hit
the show floor and are sold when first seen in the parking lot. There are
many pre-arranged deals also that are completed before the show opening on
Saturday. Overall it is a more relaxing time to visit with people I only
get to see at this event. The Donley's do a great job keeping this show
going. With all the other outlets for dealers to sell their items, the
Union Show is still the premier event for the dealers (and buyers) to travel
many miles to attend. The Donley's have tried hard to keep this from being
a "Flea Market" parking lot event. That is why this year there is no
selling in the parking lot prior to the Friday set up day.
