Thanks for the heads up Zono!! it is a male crank of course, and I tested 
the threading size using the crank off of my VV-330, which did thread into 
the VV-XVI just fine. Of course you wouldn't want to use the VV-330 crank on 
this machine as it protrudes out about a foot and a half!!
