I'm not an Edison fancier, much less an expert, but all of the re-doing that the guy purportedly did, anodizing, re-plating, etc. would tend to make the thing far less desirable than a preserved and cleaned-up piece. The comical thing is his starting bid, vs. his desired price. This guy must have a loose wire.
