Ads for the "Lavtor" do not appear in the "Talking Machine World"
1916-1923 according to the list compiled by R.J. Wakeman that appeared in the
old
"Victrola & 78 Journal." I don't recall seeing it there either - and I think
I'd have remembered it!
I expect the "Lavtor" was one of the hundreds of fly-by-night concerns
that sprang up in the late teens and were wiped out in the recession of 1921.
The best way to research the brand would be to check city directories (is
there a city named on the machine?) for 1916 through perhaps 1922. That might
reveal an address(es) and years the firm was in business.
It will all depend on the hand she's dealt, but if Wendy's willing to
take the plunge, she just might find a Royal Flush! Sorry - just had to pull
your chain...
