P was for "parlor", but it indicated the size of the record (7"), not the
type of music. There was also C for "concert", but my notes are elsewhere,
and I can't remember if this was for 9" or for 10".

I'm currently working on a numerical listing of these early zonophone discs
as part of the Online Discographical Project. If anyone wants to send
information from their collection, it would be most welcome!

All the best,
Tyrone Settlemier
