I have one of these in my collection. I bought mine as a reminder of my trip overseas. I had a jeweler look into it. Its true that it dates around the 1980's or so. If you crack open the case, you will find a music spindle similar to one found in a music jewelry box. Everything on top is brass, so it will clean up nice. But not any significant value as a jeweler verified for me. But its a nice piece to talk about.
