Saw a Madame Hendron doll on ebay - the seller is selling the 5 records SEPARATELY. I think that stinks. He could sell one with the doll at least. His rationale is that 'some people need the records and some just want the doll'. To me that's a smokescreen that means "I know I can get more if I sell them separately". What do you all think this will fetch? I think it stinks too, John. I think he'll get less, frankly -- I know I certainly wouldn't bid on it without any records included. I don't take any seller seriously who doesn't have PayPal by now, anyway. I can't believe some ppl still hold out on that. Anyway, seeing in the description that the doll is from the 20's, or so he thinks, I realized I don't know anything about these dolls. When were they made? And technical questions about the player mechanism, like what's the proper RPM for those cylinders? Are they vertically recorded? Cellulose coating on a heavy cardboard former? How many titles were available? Any info on the voice artist who made them, and/or where they were recorded? I do know this: that doll looks like it's in truly amazing condition.
