Greetings:

For whatever it's worth: have been experimenting this past year with one
particular record, an operatic trio, "Qual volutta" (Caruso, Journet, Alda)
that contains several VERY LOUD passages. Have played this disc well over 100
times on several different wind-up machines, all with newly rebuilt reproducers
and with a new steel needle for every play... and I can't detect any
deterioration in quality.

Cheers, etc.

Doug --

And there are 14 bids! I loved the fireside decal on the horn.

That's a very rare Edison prototype Nofograff. Haven't you ever seen one?

They did think of this! ! This is a prototype that Charles Edison
designed for use as an "out-of-doors phonograph" as he was seeking a
machine to play "more robusr" outdoor music. It is pictured with its
proper horn on page 46 of Frow's book on the Edison Disc Phonograph.
