The most likely source of the breech of your password is a trojan key logger or one that locates your passwords and sends it all off to the bad guys.
How is your computer security? Anti virus up to date? firewall? Who besides you uses the computer? Cracking passwords is simple as long as you get to make repeated trys. PayPal will not hold still for that approach. Do you know how to look for trojans on your computer? remember, most AV programs do not prevent a trojan. Each account must have a completely different password. All financial / important passwords must only be used once, do not rotate between accounts. If I remember correctly, it was some variation of BabiesRus.com. My virus definitions were a week old, but Norton caught something a few days afterwards, after my definition update. Whatever the page was, it opened close to thirty other websites in new windows almost instantaneously. It's always better to google a website you're unsure of then try to guess at the site. My passwords are always random numbers and letters. In fact, I have an excel spreadsheet I use to generate 8 character random passwords (letters and numbers, but only lowercase). I can modify for upper and lower, but that always seems too much work to remember. If anyone wants it, I'll be happy to send it along. It's a small spreadsheet. -Mike -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, March 25, 2008 8:39 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Phono-L] OTHER WAYS for Possible Ebay fraudulent listing In a message dated 3/25/2008 7:57:55 A.M.
