Hi again,

I know that Scott's Phonautograph was purchased by the Smithsonian in 1866
(from Koenig), and was presumably on display for a long time. Original cost
= 500 francs.

Does anyone know when Edison made his first trip to Washington, DC? We
know he went in April 1878 for his phono demonstration (Hayes, Brady, etc),
but
is there any documentation of an earlier visit(s)?

Allen

I'm still looking for a copy of Edison Blue Amberol #2813 "Mr. Silver Moon," by
Gladys Rice and Irving Kaufman. Will offer $25 for an E- copy or better. No
tapes or CDs, I need the cylinder. I'd appreciate any offers.-Ryan

Hi

Firstly, congratulations to David for some brilliant work - seems to have
made all the news channels!

Something really off beat was a discussion I read a few years ago where
people were saying (people = theoretical sound experts!!) / claiming one day
it may be possible to decode the voice of Leonardo and other artists, as
their voice sound waves must logically be recorded in / onto the drying
paint.

I probably won't hold my breath on this one?

Can anyone shed any light on Berliner z450. a Banjo solo. It looks like Mr.
Clements or Mr. Clemens. Birth/death dates would be helpful. Did he make
any other recordings?

Thanks,

Ron L
