I found a book the other day that I'd never seen or heard of before - "The Talking Machine Industry" by Ogilvie Mitchell, who is credited as the associate editor and reviewer for the Talking Machine News. It's a UK publication, no copyright date, but this is a library copy that dates to the early 20's. It's one book out of several in Pitman's Common Commodities and Industries series.
I haven't gone through all of it yet, but seems to be similar to "The Phonograph Book" in content - except that it talks about the history of the major UK companies. Does anyone here know of this book? Loran
