There was no statement about what it might be made of.? I worked with a customer of mine several years ago that molded items that look very similar to this out of plastic for the textile industry.? They don't look like this any more as they are honeycombed, not solid - at least the ones I saw were.? They were used to wind thread onto.? Any grooving on it would likely be to catch the threads to keep them from sliding off.?? I can't say that's what it really is but is my best guess.? Any other guesses? Glenn
