Actually, that is not quite accurate.  The Dubuque World's Fair  
spanned two years.  The Fair ran from Dec. 1 1903, though March 1,  
1904.  Attendance was disappointing, and plans to open it again the  
following winter were shelved.

For this reason, it is not well remembered today.
