I think if I ever spent that much on a phonograph, I would find a way to drive there and bring it back myself, with an armed guard !! Can you imagine trusting the seller to pack it correctly and then trusting the shipper to get it to you without damaging it or destroying it? Then there is the cost of insurance. Good Grief what a predicament. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Raymond Wilenzick " < wilenzick @ bellsouth .net> To: "Antique Phonograph List" <phono-l@ oldcrank .org> Sent: Friday, April 10, 2009 8:29:47 PM GMT -05:00 US/Canada Eastern Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Graphophone K
We know who the underbidder was, but it would be interesting to know who got it for the lowly sum of $15,733 (and no horn, reproducer, or crank). ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: "Antique Phonograph List" <phono-l@ oldcrank .org> Sent: Friday, April 10, 2009 7:12 PM Subject: Re: [Phono-L] Graphophone K I wish who ever it was, would announce themselves to the world, so we can all know who purchased that rare early Graphophone .
