Does anyone know if this an original from the Edison factory or did some
tinkerer turn it into an Electric Triumph. If original, I can't imagine there
are very many still out there, and who ever bought it, must have got themselves
a real deal !! The only thing I don't understand is the seller saying he does
not have the facilities to test it. Wouldn't you just plug it in and see if the
motor worked? unless the wiring was dangerously worn and frayed of course. If
the motor was burned out, how available would a replacement be, so you could
get it running again?

This looks very well done but absent a governor I can't imagine it to be
speed accurate. I came close to pulling the trigger but let someone else
have the treasure.....Eric

He also said the decal was original. I corrected him on that point and he
graciously added ti his description.
His ad also says (many times) it is an as is sale. He's covered himself well.

Subject: [Phono-L] 1905 Class M cabinet for sale
Message-ID: <[email protected]>

Hello list! I am currently accepting offers for a circa 1905 Edison coin-op
Class M cabinet. This is the cabinet pictured on page 117 of the Frow/Sefl
book on the lower right. It is in as-found condition with original finish, and
a few restoration issues, but solid overall. There is no glass top. This is a
very scarce cabinet as not many Class M's were being sold in the 1905 period.
Please contact me if interested. I will be emailing photographs to interested
parties starting tomorrow. I may be open to partial or full trades as well.
Delivery to Union possible or pick up . . . I am in Madison, Indiana. Cel #
502-410-9269

Kind regards,
John Maeder

Once again the serial number is the key. If the Triumph were early as this
one was, a Model A 1901 - 1905 with ball latch, then the much later
induction type motor from 1918+ cannot be original. Yet another garage
mechanic
"improved" Edison is my opinion. If the machine had the bi-polar motor of the
period then it would have been worth a great deal more than the Buy-It-Now
price for the motor alone.

Hello List,

??????????? Just heard from Charley Hummel who had just gotten off the phone
with Ken's friend Fred at the hospital, Ken had quadruple by pass surgery & is
now in the recovery room sounds like everything went just fine ! Charley
visited Ken last night & again found him in good spirits, asking how much he
sold at the Wayne Show as he couldn't remember anything !! Charley told him "
You weren't around long enough to sell anything " & Ken just laughed ---- he
could possibly even be on his way home by the weekend. Look for Ken at Union &
he'll be happy to show everyone his scar !!
