Subject: [Phono-L] Photos of Andy's VV-XVIII

Hi all and many thanks for your thoughtful comments on my XVIII story.

The phonograph continues to give pleasure. I overhauled the
reproducer, set the speed with a strobe disc, and have played perhaps
two dozen sides by now; listening as I continue to clean, polish and
fuss over its cosmetic issues.

This is the first time I've used an image-hosting service, so I hope
it works for those interested in viewing the machine. Viewing the
photos shouldn't require any kind of log-in. You can double-click
each image to see it large, and also drag the entire browser window
larger, which will stretch the photos even bigger. If there's
something pertinent to be aware of that relates to a particular image,
I've put in a brief sentence or two that should appear below some of
them.

You can see in the images that I "borrowed" the lower key escutcheon
from my XVII. Still looking for one of these if anyone has one.
Finally, the "before" series of pictures isn't a true untouched view.
I had already done a quickie clean up to get the first layer of grime
off when the before photos were shot. The after 1st cleanup photos
show it as it looks right now. There's still work to be done as can
be seen.

If for some reason it doesn't work for you, let me know.

Best to all,
Andy Baron
