[Phono-L] Amberola A-VI help

Hello all
I have a beautiful Amberola A-VI with that loud aluminum gear - anyone suggest 
any fixes or methods of quieting it? With the lid down it is ok, but I am 
thinking of having a new gear made.
Anyone got a junker with a gear that's not too badly worn? This is a beautiful 
and interesting machine, too bad it was such a failure.
