could it be one of their systems where you tied put a stop at the speed you
wanted and moved the on/off lever to that spot? How about a picture?

Subject: [Phono-L] 1924 Grafonola help

Hello all
Well, I bought a 1924 Columbia tabletop Grafonola, the only one made after
that date. It was one of the "New Columbias' that came out when the Columbia
Graphophone Company emerged from bankruptcy. It has sort of a pyramidal lid.
It is beautifl inside, needs refinishing outside. My dilemma is this: The
on/off switch and speed control linkage are disengaged from each other, and
there is another part screwed to the underside of the bedpalte that seems to
link them together somehow. Since there is no repair book on this, and I
don't know how the linkages engage (believe me, there's no obvious way that
makes sense), does anyone have a late grafonola of which they could take
pictures? I need to see the underside of the top plate in the on/off switch
area. The top plate is actually rectangular, not the round or shield shaped
plate.
Any guidance is appreciated.
Thanks
John Robles
