Hi Steve ~
Can you tell me more about The Concert Book? When published, author,
ISBN if you have it, etc.?
Hope you're doing well over there. I still feel proud and honored to
have those reproducers that you restored for me.

Hello Shawn,
I believe you are talking about the early ones made in 1901 in the
7000 range. I have a NOS one it its original 1901 box, the record
and the box both look new, unfortunately the record is cracked.
From what I have read Edison began to mold records in 1901 and
stocked up for the Feb 1902 release.
I was fortunate to get about 40 record boxes from 1899 to 1902.
When did the composition of these early ones change? They also seem
to be thinner, lighter and more fragile.

reseases of brown wax cylinders also continued"

Subject: [Phono-L] flat end gold molded
Kind of curious how many early , flat end Edison molded records are
around. It seems many of these still have brown wax catalog
numbers. I only have two. The composition for these is very similar
to brown wax, except for caranauba and lampblack, and more
aluminum. COLUMBIA black wax is nothing more than borwn wax with a
higher comcentration of aluminum and lampblack.
