Although I never met Mike in person, I corresponded with him for over 10 years.
I bought three machines from him. They were an early front mount AH, 2/4 min
Edison Model A Triumph, and a late BNW with a giant fluted horn. These machines
were in great condition and my favorites. Mike and I would talk on the phone
for
over an hour talking about phonographs and other subjects. It's been a
privilege
to know you Mike and RIP.

Subject: [Phono-L] Mike Vertucci has passed away

I just wanted to pass along for those of you who knew Mike Vertucci, that he
passed away yesterday morning in his sleep. He had been in very ill health for
the last year and a half since he fell and was paralyzed from the waist down.
Mike was an avid collector with a childlike enthusiasm for the hobby. Although
some had less than satisfying transactions with Mike over the years, I truly
believe that his intentions were always good, if not always 100% accurate in
his
descriptions. Up until a month ago, Mike was still so excited about collecting.
Even bedridden and with no money, he was making deals and trades in his head
and
looked to the future. Truly the hobby is what kept him going and helped to lift
his spirits. R.I.P. Mike.
