Reading comprehension certainly hasn't improved in 100 years; most of the discussion is about homes made out of steel,
when Edison said they would be FURNISHED with steel. The flood of particle-board and thermoplastics obviously wasn't
foreseen.
I wonder what old Thomas Alva would've thought about people in 2011 with collections of Edison phonographs and records;
probably mighty pleased that his favorite invention was still in working condition !
