The cabinet, unfortunately, seems to be from a ca. 1924 era Magnavox "battery box" that would have held the power for a pre-AC Magnavox radio of the same period. Decal appears to be authentic and a nice patina on the cabinet. If so, it's a very scarce box, and a crime to drill the crank and other holes in it.

The horn with its small eyelet-reinforced hole at the top may also be an early electronic item; part of a very early public address setup (as in a cluster of them at the top of a pole at an event).

The horn elbow appears to be a black-painted piece of white PVC plumbing.

Ouch indeed, on all fronts.  Seller is either ignorant or a crook.

I would have to say, I have really never seen anthing like this before. Is this really legit ? or is it some kind of Frankenphone?
