One of my projects has been to complete a Weber repeater, and in the process
decided to make a couple of complete sets, just because we could - sound
weird, but when you are having fun!!

The Weber repeater was introduced around 1903/4 and was short lived, being
superseded by the Edison Model D repeater. It is a fascinating device with
the exposed chain drive, and works extremely well. It's one failing is that
it is not strong enough to carry a horn on the reproducer and it requires a
crane mounted horn or hearing tubes. I have also made a small cardboard horn
from a party hat and that works as well.

A photo showing part of the repeater (only a part of the chain and none of
the rear return mechanism are shown) at 2-35 in Fabrizio and Paul's "Gadgets
Gizmos and Gimmicks".

These sets are very nearly identical to the original and I doubt even an
expert could tell the difference once the shine wears off. The chain was
laser cut and machined to original specs and was hand assembled.

Main pulleys for Spring Motor/Triumph or Class M can be supplied.

The repeaters are fiddly to fit, and we can fit to your topworks at a low
cost if desired (recommended, as we can then guarantee everything is working
correctly).

Price is $2250 plus $250 for fitting is required, post and insurance paid
from Australia.

If anyone is interested, please contact me off line on [email protected]
for further information and photos.
